Eastern Epithermal Camp
Calibre's Eastern Epithermal camp has historically been highlighted as a potential area to host significant low sulphidation epithermal gold-silver mineralization. The camp covers 25,000 hectares of concessions including at least four small past producers including the La Luna, Riscos de Oro and Blag historic mines. Exploration success at La Luna and Riscos de Oro projects during 2009/2010 season During the 2009/2010 exploration season, Calibre outlined four new low sulphidation epithermal gold-silver vein trends over 9 kilometres of inferred total vein strike length. Calibre advanced two projects -- the La Luna gold-silver project and the Riscos de Oro gold-silver project -- through sampling and trenching to the drill testing stage. Geology of Eastern Epithermal camp The Eastern Epithermal camp is characterized by low hills of Matagalpa Group andesitic volcanic and pyroclastic rocks. Apparent preservation of broad alteration systems in the Matagalpa volcanics of the northern area suggests relatively little erosion and good preservation of hydrothermal systems. The area contains numerous low-sulphidation style epithermal veins. | |
