Bonanza Camp
Calibre's Bonanza camp has the potential to host low sulphidation epithermal gold-silver mineralization and covers 16,000 hectares of concessions. The camp contains numerous economic low-sulphidation style epithermal veins which have been the basis for production at the active Bonanza mine, which is owned and operated by a private, arms-length company. The small town of Bonanza is located within the concessions. Active Bonanza gold mine nearby Gold is currently produced at the Bonanza gold mine. Calibre's concessions in the Bonanza district are contiguous claims surrounding the Bonanza mine. The Bonanza mine has produced over 2.6 million ounces of gold from low-sulphidation epithermal veins since 1939*.

Infill mapping, prospecting and trenching are planned for the following two prospects:
The epithermal vein targets at Calibre's NE Bonanza prospect have a cumulative strike length of 15 kilometres and are located northeast of the active Bonanza mine. Geochemistry from quartz float returned anomalous gold-silver-lead. Infill mapping, prospecting and trenching is planned. Geology of Bonanza camp The Bonanza camp is composed of two northeast trending sequences of Tertiary aged Matagalpa andesitic volcanics that flank a central andesitic pyroclastic unit. To the north, these pyroclastics become progressively more felsic as they approach an intrusion of similar composition. Veins in the southwest are typically base metal-rich, while those in the northeast are gold-silver-rich. The lack of exposure of significant intrusive rocks or rocks of the Todos Santos Formation suggests minimal erosion and overall good preservation of the contained epithermal systems. * Historical production from (Arengi 2002). | |
